Career Seeker FAQs

What happens once I fill out the interest form?

If you're interested in pursuing a career in cyber or tech, we want to know! Safal Partners is helping employers across the U.S. build registered apprenticeship programs.

What is apprenticeship?

Should you be selected by an employer, apprenticeship is a paid learn and earn opportunity. You will work as a paid employee and complete approximately 144 hours of related instruction outside your job to become fully proficient in your occupation. These are typically 12- 18 month paid apprenticeship opportunities, after which you may be offered a full-time, long-term position with your hiring employer.

What is related instruction and how long will it take?

Apprenticeship is valuable because it gives you the opportunity to learn and gain skills both on the job AND through a series of courses that provide knowledge specifically required for professionals in your occupation. Every apprentice is required to complete approximately 144 hours (contact hours, not college credit hours) of courses for each year of their apprenticeship period. That means an apprentice will complete approximately 144 hours of instruction and then have additional assignments/quizzes/tests to complete to demonstrate their comprehension and competency.

When will I take the related instruction courses?

If you are hired by an employer, they will set the schedule for your related instruction courses. All, or a majority, of these classes will be online. An employer may require you to complete all or a portion of these classes prior to starting your paid work.

Am I guaranteed a job through this program?

Our goal is to share information about our partners who are open to apprenticeship inquiries so you can consider applying for a paid apprenticeship program; however, 94% of apprentices retain their employment after completing their apprenticeship.

What do I need to be an apprentice?

The minimum qualifications are that you must be 18 years or older, have graduated from high school or successfully completed a high school equivalency program and be eligible to work in the United States. A college degree and previous Cyber/Tech experience is not required. However, each participating employer has their own qualifications for the occupations they’re hiring for.
